Do you spend hours in front of your closet every morning only to determine that you “can’t find anything to wear”? Though i’m not typically a person that takes forever getting ready (too lazy honestly), picking out an outfit for work can take forever. When I have restrictions on what I can wear, I have a hard time getting creative.
When I was younger, thinking about having to wear “work attire” made me absolutely cringe. I always pictured black pants suits, 2-inch patent leather heels, and terrible ill-fitting blazers. While i’m sure that there’s still a lot of that out there, I determined at an early age that that ainnnnnt me (sry bout it). After realizing that not all work clothes were boring, as I got older I grew to love everything dressy. Like c’mon, this blazer vest? This is too good to pass up.
Though I probably speak for most people when I say that I’d like to wear whatever I want every day (leggings & a t-shirt anyone?), sometimes it’s nice to have restrictions because it forces you to think outside of the box. Lately for work, I am loving blazer vests. They really dress up an outfit without making it uncomfortable. In my search, I’ve found that Boohoo and Express both have great selections at pretty good price points.
Another super easy dressy piece? Over the knee boots. You might recognize these boots because I’ve basically wearing them non-stop on my Instagram since I got them. They are soo comfortable and really add a lil’ something to every outfit. I mean, without the vest and the boots, this look would be pretty casual right? Exactly. By recognizing that a few different pieces can really dress up an otherwise plain outfit, i’ve grown to love dressing for work. It’s fun seeing how many different combos you can mix and match to get different outcomes.
