December 15, 2019
“Wasn’t it August like yesterday?” – me every year when December hits. As we are now in the middle of December and the holiday season is FLYING by, it’s *finally* acceptable to put out all of your Christmas decor and indulge in *all* the holiday activities you love so much! As the holiday season tends to pass in the blink of an eye, today I am making a Christmas Bucket List to help me make the most of these last few weeks!
A few years back, I got into the habit of making small bucket lists every season so that I have an idea of the fun things I want to do and I really think it helps! If I don’t, I tend to notice that the season sort of passes me by since life gets busy – which I’m SURE you can relate to. Even if I don’t get to everything on the bucket list, it’s fun to pre-plan a few seasonal activities you just don’t want to miss out on. 🙂 If you’re like me and feel like you don’t get around to things until you actually plan them, GIVE THIS A TRY!! It’s really fun to make with your family and friends and gets you in a seasonal spirit right away.
There are some really fun ideas and *hint hint* seasonal flavor combos like Starbucks® Peppermint Mocha Flavored Coffee Ground Coffee from Acme!
Below, I’ve added 10 of my favorite Christmas Bucketlist items that I’m going to try to accomplish this Christmas season. Which activities are your favorite? Leave me some feedback in the comments, I would love to hear what you have on your list!
1) Bake your favorite Christmas cookies
Some of my favorites are Sugar and Butter Cookies, but I am partial to Gingerbread as well. Check out 4 Easy Christmas Cookie recipes here that I swear by (all recipes are vegan-friendly as well).
2) Make some peppermint mocha coffee with Starbucks Coffee & wrap presents
This is one of my favorite traditions that I do every year! Since I know life gets in the way and its easy to procrastinate wrapping your gifts until the last minute, I like to make a little event out of it!
Here’s how it works:
Creating a fun night out of wrapping presents helps you to get them done early and not have to panic at the last second! Also, small traditions like this really help to celebrate the season and it’s the little things that you remember for years to come.
Are you into seasonal flavors? One that I can’t get enough of is Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Flavored coffee from Acme. It has such a rich mocha flavor with notes of peppermint and is sooo addicting! A little note for all of my Keurig friends: you’re not left out, it also comes in K-Cup® pods!
Since a lot of coffee drinks can be really sugary/high-calorie, I like to make a lighter version if possible. For this drink, I take my Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Flavored coffee and mix it with a bit of almond milk, then top it off with Almond whipped cream! Using non-dairy subs like this for coffee drinks is my favorite since it really limits the calories and makes it something I can enjoy all the time! If you’re whipping up a cup for friends and family, feel free to add some crushed candy canes on top to really bring out the Peppermint Mocha flavor. #YUM.
I picked up the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Flavored coffee at Acme, and you can save on your own purchase here with this coupon: ___. You can also grab it for an after-dinner pick-me-up when the whole family arrives on Christmas Eve!
3) Host a Sweater Party
Using basically any excuse for a party is a yes in my book, and I love the sweater parties! It’s so fun to see the ridiculous pieces people show up in. I managed to snag a reindeer vest from my mom years ago (who wants to borrow?), and it’s always my go-to!
4) Create a fun Christmas light display
DIY-ing a Christmas display is easy as pie! Simply string up lights in a back and forth pattern using command strips to create an ambient glow. Try this instead of buying a pre-made display, it’s so much cheaper & crazy easy to DIY your own! I want to keep these up all year round!
5) Go ice skating
While this is so fun on a real lake, if you’re in a warmer area, opt for the skating rink! Ice skating is always fun since almost everyone is bad at it (in my experience LOL), and there are endless laughs in watching each other fall.
6) Whip up an egg nog cocktail
Egg nog is so good in many different capacities, especially cocktails! Try it out with Bourbon! It’s perfectly rich and seasonal.
7) Have a Christmas themed potluck
Something I STRONGLY believe in doing is implementing consistent potlucks into your monthly hangouts with friends! It’s always so fun to see what everyone comes up and how they tie in a seasonal element to their dishes.
8) Decorate a gingerbread house
This is something that while I can say I’m not good at, I love doing! It’s fun to see what you can create. Does anyone have tips on how to not make these fall apart? Asking for a friend.
9) Make a playlist of my favorite holiday tunes
I am partial to the pop Christmas albums, but I love them all!
10) Have a Christmas movie marathon
Christmas movies are the best since they’re so heartwarming and fun! Plus there are enough to last you the entire month.
Are you feeling the Christmas spirit? I hope this list helps you to make the most out of the holiday season and enjoy it to the fullest. Make sure to save this post for when you’re running out of things to do and pick up Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Coffee to give you all the seasonal feels! Enjoy!
Sincerely, Katerina
