How many times have you looked in your closet (full of clothes – might I add) and said to yourself “I have nothing to wear”. We’ve all been there. You feel like you recently shopped, and your closet is filled to the brim, but you can’t seem to put together an outfit you like. When this happens to me, I try to pull out some simple pieces that I know fit/look good, and start from there.
Recently, i’ve been trying to incorporate more basics into my wardrobe and allowing them to be the staple piece in my outfits. For example, below, I styled a $15 white top, four different ways. Since i’m all about *fun outfits*, I notice myself only purchasing pieces that are over the top and exciting, and forgetting to pick up basics like a white shirt. Because of this, I just stocked up on about 10 basics (white, black, grey shirts, a pair of jeans, etc.) and have noticed how much easier outfits have been to create. With a few simple accessory changes, you can make your true & tried basics look distinctly different, time and time again.
Next time you feel like you have nothing to wear, I challenge you to grab a basic top or bottom (a t shirt, tank top, jeans – using something plain works well), and seeing how many outfit combinations you can create with it. I promise there will be more than you think! Check out the looks below & let me know your favorite!

I hope you guys like these outfits and found this tip useful! I’m all about working with what I already have, so I love finding new ways to wear pieces i’ve had for years with the help of a simple basic! Let me know your favorites!
