When I was recently redoing my room, I stumbled upon an old map print that I wasn’t using. Determined not to waste such a neat piece, I decided to make some simple coasters. This DIY is incredibly easy, really cute, and perfect for entertaining. Now you will have enough coasters for everyone at your party, and they’ll even ask where you got them!
Cut out pieces of your map into tile sizes. I did this by tracing around the tile onto the map to get the correct size. Once they were tile sized, I cut them down about a half inch around each edge so that the paper would not hang over the front of the tile.
Next, cover the top of your tile with a thick coat of Mod Podge.
Once the tile is covered, place the desired piece of your map onto the middle of the tile making sure that it is even on both sides.
After the map is placed on the tile, cover it again with the Mod Podge so that it seals. Make sure you apply the Mod Podge to the edges generously so that the paper adheres to the tile. While it will look like glue when you first put it on, I promise it dries clear!
After the Mod Podge has dried, the coasters are done!
Your finished product should look like this! If you make these please let me know in the comments how they turned out for you. I’d love to know! Enjoy, xoxo.
