Hey guys! Today I’m kicking off the holiday season with a little hair tutorial action. I get a lot of questions about my go-to hairstyles, so I wanted to share this simple easy look I’ve been rocking for years. I know that the holiday season is filled with lots of parties, events, and festivities, so it’s always nice to have a simple, no-hassle hairstyle, like this 10-Minute Braided Bun, that can make you look and feel fab in no time!

I’ve always been a huge braid girl since I love how they require little styling to create something gorgeous and can work with pretty much any texture, length, and style of hair. Now, if you’re not a seasoned braider, don’t worry! For this tutorial, all you need to know how to do is a regular three-strand braid.

To create this look, I used the TRESemmé Thermal Creations Ultra Power Hair Dryer to give my hair some body and the TRESemmé Thermal Creations Blow Dry Balm to keep my hair safe while doing so. On days when I am styling my hair with heat, I make sure I’m using a heat protector to keep my hair healthy and happy. I picked up these new TRESemmé products at my local Walmart, which is where they’re exclusively carried in the styling aisle.

I’ve recently been obsessed with@TRESemmé Blow Dry Accelerator as it helps to guard against heat but also leaves my hair feeling shiny and soft. A lot of heat protectors I’ve tried in the past have left my hair feeling sticky, so I love that this product doesn’t do that. It’s a win-win! Now, without further ado, grab your tools and let’s get to work!

For this look, you will need:

• A strong hair tie
• Hairspray (optional)
• A few bobby pins
• @TRESemmé Ultra Power Hair Dryer
• @TRESemmé Blow Dry Accelerator (heat protector)

10 Minute Easy Braided Bun

1. Start with damp hair (if your starting with dry hair, skip this step). Apply your TRESemmé Thermal Balm, by spraying a few squirts 6-8 inches away from the hair.

2. Grab your hair dryer (I am using my TRESemmé Ultra Power Hair Dryer here) and blow dry the hair until it is no longer damp. Blow drying rather than air drying will help to give the finished look more volume.

3. Once the hair is dry, pull it up into a high ponytail on top of your head. I like to pull my hair up really high here so that the bun sits on top of my head rather than behind.

4. Teeze the ponytail with a simple teasing combo to create some volume.

5. Once you’re done teasing, braid the ponytail into a simple 3 strand braid.

6. Next, pull out the braid to make it look bigger. Starting at the bottom, gently pull apart each section of the braid so that it widens and looks fuller. If you’re having trouble, simply google “how to pancake a braid”. It makes all the difference!

7. Once your braid is gorgeous and full, wrap it around in a circle and secure it with a few bobby pins. I like to mess around with this on which way I wrap it since it sometimes it looks good one way, and sometimes it looks good another way. After it’s secured with the bobby pins, you can pull it apart a bit to widen the bun.

8. Once the bun is secure, I like to pull out the front and side pieces of the ponytail so that it’s less flat to my head.  I also often pull out some pieces at the sides of my face for a messier/casual look (this is great if you have bangs).

*Lastly, secure your flyaways with a bit of hairspray, and you are good to go. Pin this collage for later!
