The first time I had bananas foster was at a friends birthday party in third grade. Is it weird I remember that? That’s how you can tell I really love food hahah. I remember it vividly: my friends mom, pouring a hot, sweet, delicious banana sauce on to some perfect vanilla ice-cream. While my stomach has become a lot more fussy since then, I still love the taste of bananas foster.
When I first discovered the simple trick of caramelizing bananas in a skillet, I knew it was something I would use for years to come. While oatmeal is a favorite of mine, sometimes it can get a little boring. This banana foster sauce is JUST what you need to spice up your regular breakfast bowl. This mixture also goes great on pancakes, toast, or just about everything. Bananas + pure maple syrup = a small slice of heaven.
If you try out this recipe, let me know how you like it! I hope it becomes a regular staple in your breakfast routine. Enjoy, xo.
